Acoustic Benefits

Shell is a powerful sound absorbing panel which effectively decreases reverberations in large open-plan and reception areas, as well as smaller office rooms. Its perforated metal on the back allows for sound absorption also from the back/top of Shell.

Absorption

Sound absorption shows the ability to stop the sound wave that hits the surface and transform it into an unnoticeable heat energy. Sound absorbers improve room acoustics by eliminating sound reflections and reducing the reverberation time. Absorption is measured according to EN ISO 354 and can be expressed as sound absorption coefficient α. α ranges from 0 (total reflection) to 1 (total absorption).

Mid & High tones

Frequency of air vibrations carried by an acoustic wave is expressed in Hz (Hertz). This unit depicts the quantity of air vibrations per second. Frequencies audible to a human ear are between ca. 16 Hz and 20000 Hz.
